February so far:
Being gifted:
-Songs From A Room, by Leonard Cohen - from my boyfriend
-The most perfect nude silk camisole, and a tinted lip balm - from my mother
Finally getting around doing more collages, I think I needed a tangible excuse to start doing them again. This one was sent here :)
Finding:
-Gloves I bought in Florence, Italy when I was 15, forgotten and found at my parents' house
-The most wonderful 60s velvet Oscar Wilde-ish coat at my favourite thrift shop
-The first pair of sunglasses I have ever bought for myself (almost free at Local 23/the girl working there said: "girl, what have you been doing all that time?" and indeed, what have I been doing?)
-The perfect turquoise ring, after years of searching (from here)
P.S. I'm quite happy to finally getting around blogging again after my poor old computer got repaired--again. Hope you're all well!
I'm getting around giving my much neglected flickr account a second chance, and I'm cleaning up a bit around there. I would like to use more of my own content over here, so we'll see how that goes. My flickr's pretty empty at the moment, but go have a look if you'd like!
I loved my Valentine SO MUCH...and I had a look at your flickr--that coat is pretty much mind blowing!
ReplyDeleteSiri: So happy you liked it :)
ReplyDeleteAnd that coat! I almost screamed with joy (which is something I never do) when I found it! Oh, and I finally got around accepting your contact request on flickr... from 2 years ago. It's a bit embarrassing how I've neglected flickr haha!
That coat sounds really lovely, I've always loved the look of velvet, though I don't see myself wearing it.
ReplyDeleteCamille! I keep forgetting to tell you that upon my arrival home from France I races to my room and unwrapped your package! I love the shirt! I have been wearing it at the beach to prevent sun burn, and of coure the scarf is going to be handily used for keeping the hair from when I have moved back to the windiest of cities!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much x
Lin: Thank you! I think what I like best about velvet is how it has this quiet opulence to it.
ReplyDeleteJessicat: Yes! So happy you received my parcel, and that you like the things! I have to admit I still haven't gotten around making the dress, but I'll definitely let you know and send you pictures when I'll be done! xo
nice finds...but i think i dig the leather gloves the most.
ReplyDeleteoh and nice collage!
If Jane: Thank you! And the gloves have a nice back story to them--I was 15, visiting Florence with school, lost my group during some free period and got to walk around as much as I wanted. Quite a good time!
